Company
Rocky Mountains Eagle was founded by a group of Cowboys from Wyoming. The first flight activities have been flights from our homebase JAC to SLC by two EMB-120ER Brasilia. Very soon our flights showed that the connection was a full success. People love to fly to JAC for recreation and sporting activities. Therefore our network was expended, with the goal to connect the larger Hubs with our homebase airport. With the Emrbaer Regional Jets (ERJ) we shortened the flight time and were able to connect JAC with the east- and westcoast. The EMB120 have been replaced by Bombardier Dash-8 Aircrafts.
A sad day in our company's history was AUG 21st 2009. Rocky Mountains Eagle had to file for chapter 11. The decreasing number of passengers - especially international - forced us to ground our airline and to take action.
A new business plan was elaborated through our management team and the external business analysts of PWC. We faced to our new business plan, wich sees our primary goal to connect the Rocky Mountains with the large Hubs in the country. Soon, new markets opened and a new Hub at JFK was opened. Rocky Mountains Eagle joined the One Sky Alliance. Thanks to the support of the alliance partners and the move to the stock exchange, we received a huge drive and soon we opened new Hubs in MIA, DSM and lately in LAS and DEN. We want to grow moderate and therefor we count on the A318, witch fully corresponds to our needs. At this time, we don't plan any intercontinental flights, except our flights to/from Hawaii, Alaska and Central America.
